June 16

Hi friends, supporters and family, We hope you are all well. We have had another exciting month in Thailand. We have seen many more healings in the villages – one elderly lady had internal bleeding and Wolfgang prayed for her. Next week Jesus had healed her and she was well again.IMG_0111

worship in Church in the village

We see people touched by Jesus, especially through the local people reaching out to their neighbours and to the people in the surrounding villages. It is exciting to see the Gospel message spread. Bill Hughes invited another American missionary for a weekend. We had a powerful church service in the presence of our Lord on Sunday. The local people enacted the story in Mark 5 of the demons cast out of a man and into a herd of pigs who then run into the ocean. This story was followed by a workshop on Monday where some local leaders as well as us learnt more about story telling. Many people in the villages are not very literate, but outstanding in the way they can memorize stories. We practiced more bible stories and were taught about the more and less important points while telling the story. One lady even made up her own story out of her experiences with Jesus. The gospel is spreading by more and more people in the villages telling bible stories and others retelling their own story. Each of us has a unique story that is worth retelling.

Wolfgang did his first bible study in a village in Thai language last week. The Thai leader was not well, so he asked Wolfgang to lead the session. The listeners understood the message that God is near, according to John 15. Slowly the ability to converse in Thai is improving. Wolfgang will start learning the local Isan language soon, which will help to understand Isan people a lot.

One of the Flourish groups

Dianne has started two new ‘Flourish groups’, running for 9 weeks each. Flourish is a life skills training course for women. Many of those participating in the course will be leaders to run the course later in the groups of women they work with. We praise God for the opportunity to empower women in Thailand and for Aw and Christina who are such wonderful young co-leaders.

Thank God for the rain

We are very thankful to Jesus for the start of the wet season. The temperature is much more tolerable and the air is cleaner again. The farmers are sowing rice and some crops are already popping out of the ground. We pray that the water reservoirs will fill up once again.

Next week, we will welcome our first team to visit Thailand from Encounter Christian Church Shepparton. We are really looking forward to this time.

Praise and prayer points:

We praise God for the rain.

We thank Him for protecting His people during Songkran.

We thank Jesus for bringing the two Flourish groups together and pray for a great impact on the life of every participant.

Pray for safety and a special touch from Jesus as our first team will arrive next week.

Give thanks to our God for improvements in language and pray for better understanding of Isan language.

Thank God for continuing support, friendship and prayers of His faithful people.

Thank you to all those that support, encourage and pray for us. Without you behind us, we cannot do this work that God has called us to. May God bless your faithfulness,
